We're heading to the Shitty Barn in Spring Green, WI this Thursday to film our second episode!

In preparation for the shoot, Peter and I travelled up to the Barn this past weekend to paint their barn door.

What was the problem with the existing one? Well, it was painted white! Since the door is the backdrop for the artists, light colors will act as a backlight, pulling focus away from the performers and upsetting the color balance of the cameras. There is a similar problem with the windows in the barn door - while it is light outside, they will show up as blinding white squares behind the musicians in the footage. To solve this issue, we're going to block the windows with some of the Shitty Barn's show posters (you can see some on the wall in the final image).

The Shitty Barn folks have been great to work with - they gave us the go-ahead to paint and settled on a nice navy blue color, "Anchors Aweigh".

So, avast ye me hearties, and behold our bonny new paint job!
